Awking Songs Publishing is a boutique publishing company founded by Eric Luskin in 1987 when he wrote “Then And Now”, the theme music for a PBS documentary on the British sci-fi series “Doctor Who”.  Over the years there have been other forays into TV soundtracks.    In 2011, Luskin wrote the musical theme for a series of PBS programs on the making of the UK series “Doc Martin” (starring Martin Clunes).  In 2021, Luskin wrote several music cues for the documentary “The Stress Solution With Dr. Rangen Chattergee” which aired on many PBS stations.

Throughout his professional career in PBS programming and international distribution, Luskin also played guitar and bass in cover bands   An active song writer, with more than 40 published songs to his credit, his songs have been performed and recorded by his bands The Maple Street Project and Side Street as well as by South African folk artist Mel Green. 

In recent years Luskin has teamed up with long time UK friend Tim Barron to create the virtual band Ditch The MuuMuu.  Barron, the front man for the 80's New Wave group Thieves Like Us, went on to establish a career on TV and stage including the role of Buddy Holly in “3 Steps To Heaven” and Captain Tempest in the long running West End musical “Return To The Forbidden Planet”. 

Ditch The MuuMuu began as an experiment in co-writing and recording when the pandemic hit back in 2020. They released their initial CD, “Worth Its Wait”, in 2022 with sales proceeds benefiting Cancer Research UK and The Dana Farber Cancer Center in Boston.  There are now 23 DTM songs in the Awking Songs catalog with more on the way. 

Luskin is currently developing songs for TV/Film libraries and is a member of Elite Music Coaching Sync Titan.
